Q&A: Early Morning Wake Ups

Via Twitter:

Q: Any thoughts on stopping my cat from attacking at dawn (about 4am) demanding breakfast?

A: Consistently play with him and feed him late in the day. That should reset his hunger clock to later in the morning. Be sure to include playtime prior to eating, as he needs to be worn out. You should see results, but give it time. There likely won't be much of a change for at least the first week.

Success: This tweeter later contacted me with this update: "The later feeding times seem to be working for my cat - he now wakes me around me about 6 (usual alarm time)- cheers!"
