This month, as in previous Octobers over recent years, many animal shelters across the country are running adoption specials for black cats. This prompts outrage from those who state that black cats are in danger of becoming satanic sacrifices. Many shelters used to halt adoptions of black cats for the month of October, assuming they needed extra protection. However, as shelters learned the facts don't back that notion up, their practice became to remove the stigma of black cats and Halloween by offering adoption specials on them instead of restrictions. Consider the fact that shelters have a vetting process. This does not put black cats in danger, but rather it saves their lives.
